THE INTERNATIONAL CASPIAN STUD BOOK established 1978 AND INTERNATIONAL CASPIAN SOCIETY established 1996 Seal of Darius the Great - 500 BC |
|
The logo of the International Caspian Stud Book and International Caspian Society is based upon the Seal of the Persian King, Darius the Great. The cylindrical seal depicted small horses which were highly prized for ceremonial purposes and, by virtue of their speed and agility, to assure the prowess of the King when lion hunting. The small horses also appear in the parade of gift bearers on the great staircase of the Palace of Darius at Persepolis.
